Itinerary

Day 1

Upon arrival to Arctic Bay we will take advantage of every minute and start our commute via snowmobile and komatiq to base camp. The crew will brief you on safety and rules for life on sea ice and get you acquainted with the amenities around camp.

Day 2-7

Experience the wildlife at the floe edge: the line of life. We will commute daily to the floe edge, and on the way if conditions permit see some impressive bird cliffs. Our local guides will try to find the most opportunistic spots along the floe edge for wildlife encounters. Though wildlife is never a guarantee, we hope to see polar bears, narwhals, bowhead whales, belugas, and perhaps an arctic fox. Birders keep an eye out for king eiders, ivory gulls, common eiders, murres, snow geese, snow buntings, fulmars to name a few.

Day 8

A commute day back to town. The crew will decide the time, pending weather and ice conditions to safely get you back to Arctic Bay. Here you will enjoy a night in a hotel, and a well deserved hot shower!

Day 9

Today we bid farewell as you board your flight to return south.
